Summer Service Learning Camps

March 2017

The Gifford School Carnival.  The Carnival will be held Saturday, March 11th, 10am - 4pm.  There are many opportunities for set-up, decorating, games, and clean-up.  We would like to invite any St. Catherine's students who would like volunteer hours to come volunteer at our carnival.  Both middle and high school students are welcome to volunteer.  Gifford PTA would be happy to endorse volunteer hours. Catholic Financial Life is sponsoring "Kindness for Katrina" on Saturday, November 5th, at St. Sebastian's school gym, from 4-8 p.m. There will be a dinner, raffles and auction items and kid's activities. Catholic Financial Life will generously match the funds raised! The event will raise funds to help with the many expenses as the Bargender family continues to battle Katrina's illness.

Cops N' Kids Annual Holiday Book Giveaway

Volunteers may contact Cynde Summers with their name, email address, phone number, and shift they are able to work. The shifts include: Friday, December 16th from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. for set-up and Saturday, December 17th from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 11:15 a.m. The event takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. 


Walk for HOPES The HOPES Center is holding its annual walk around the grounds of the Siena Center on Saturday, October 8th. St. Catherine's will have informational table along the route. We would like to have 1-2 students eager to share their St. Catherine's experience with walkers at our table. Volunteers will need to arrive by 8:30 a.m. at the Siena Center and will be done by 10:30 a.m. To sign-up, please contact Tim Weiss in the Development Office.






Soles for Education This event, which has had annual representation from the SC community,  will take place on Saturday, October 15th, from 8:30 a.m. - Noon, at Mt. Mary University.           St. Cat's is putting together a group of 3-4 volunteers to hand out treats to the participants. If you can volunteer your time or you'd like more info, please contact Ms. Kory Wandrey at Learn more about Soles for Education.

Class of '66 50th Reunion Greeters & Raffle Sales Saturday, October 1st, the Class of 1966 will be celebrating their 50th Reunion at Racine Country Club. Six students are needed from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. to greet guests and help sell 50/50 raffle tickets. To sign-up, please contact Tim Weiss in the Development Office.

Alumni Weekend Tour Guides
On Sunday, October 2nd, St. Catherine's will be hosting our Alumni Mass and Open House, as part of our Alumni Weekend. We need 5-10 students to help greet our guests and provide tours of the building before and after mass. Students should arrive by 9:45 a.m. and will be finished by 1 p.m. (and will be able to attend mass). To sign up, please contact Raechel Bartel in the Development Office.


2016 Root River Festival. Student volunteers are needed for the 2016 Root River Festival being held on Sunday, September 3rd at Riverbend.  Shifts are from 12-3 pm3-6 pm or 2 hour increments based on your availability.  Please contact Mrs. Cynde Summers at to sign up.

Convoy of Hope Racine. September 17th at 10:00 am. Volunteers are an important part of all community events. Convoy of Hope engages with community members in building a volunteer base, establishing a customized plan for the community, and carrying out the event. At many communities, thousands of volunteers participate to bring guests of honor a poverty-free day.
