Diversity Club learns about volunteering at the Racine Literacy council
Cheryl Mooney, the faculty mentor of the Diversity Club arranged for Margarita Fons, Program Director of Racine Literacy Council to visit the students and extend an opportunity to tutor adults in the literacy program. Some of the adult students needing help are studying for their GED's or English is their second language. The commitment is approximately 2 hours per week, and RLC would like to see a tutor stay for at least 4 months. RLC is very flexible with students and their family's schedules.
The newest tutors from the Diversity Club
Alma Meza-Cisneros and Steasy Gomez, two of the Diversity Club members from St. Catherine's, were trained this week at the Racine Literacy Council for Tutoring Adults. Way to go ladies!
